The Home Office From Hell Contest

Monday, October 23rd, 2006

Offices2Share.com is having The Home Office From Hell contest starting 10/23/06. Here are my reasons why I have the worse home office from hell.

It’s not an office it’s a jungle. I have three little monkeys that come in when ever possible to:

  1. touch anything on site
  2. push buttons from the printer, computer and anything technical on my desk
  3. rip paper and any special project I am working on, any brain storming notes and sometimes even personal documents
  4. write on my desk and any surface they find
  5. The latches on my drawers can only be accessed with a pen tip. This is how I open my drawers everytime. I always keep them close in fear of what my little three monkeys can do.
  6. If I lock the door to the room; my oldest child (oldest money) will pretend he is lady (from the movie “The Lady and the Trump”). He will bark and scratch the door and cry like a dog until I can’t take it any longer and have to stop working.
  7. The youngest monkey sleeps in my office and will wake up crying and wants to eat NOW. He is 6 months old. I have to stop what I am doing to feed him, change his diaper, burp him; attend to him completely. Therefore it will take me twice as long to finish a project.
  8. When things get bad during the day, I tried working at night. The problem there is that my office is in my bedroom and my husband wants to sleep and the monitor brightness hits him on the face. I really can’t do that.
  9. If I wanted to work early in the morning- I would have to wake up at 4 a.m. since the middle monkey(Genesis) is an early riser. She is awake by 5 am. I can’t ignore her since she will scream and hit the door until I open it. She is only 17 months old
  10. Because of my monkeys I keep most of my office supplies in boxes inside my closet. If I need paper, I go through boxes of things to find paper, a note pad, more pens and so on.

This are my 10 reasons why I need an office outside my home. It is hard to try to work from home when I have 3 little ones doing monkey business all the time. I do try taking time here and there to play with them but the more I do that the more they want.

I need to get out of here and be out of my house to do anything. I start projects that take for ever to finish.

Even simply things like checking my email takes a long time because of the many interruptions. I can’t take it any longer!

Dan II, is now Eating Solids

Monday, October 23rd, 2006

Dan II (Jr.) is now almost 6 months old- that is in 2 weeks. He is now eating solids. My other two started at 4 months. Dan Jr. waited because of his allergies. The Pediatrician recommended I waited a bit more with him.

I have to say that he was more ready to eat the Mikey and Genesis were when they started. I thought I was going to wait until he realized what he needed to do with the spoon once it was in his mouth and I was wrong. He was a pro. He knew exactly what to do with the food and the spoon.

I guess he wanted to start eating a while back and was not able to.

But this is the beginning of many messy meals for Dan Jr. I hope he starts eating by himself soon. I hate to wear their food all the time if you know what I mean?

Who is James Brausch?

Friday, October 20th, 2006

Who is he? Has anyone out there know who this guy is? He says that Traffic + Copywriting + Product = Successful Internet Business. In checking out his site, it looks like it needs a bit more presentation. To me it looks plain. How good are is courses? Obviously not graphic pro. Maybe a programmer/developer. He has an Internet business that it seems that a lot of people on the net have.

What makes him better than the next person. When it comes to “I will teach you, My programs teaches”; to me it’s all the same. They get information from other internet sources and put their own spin on things. At the end what works and what doesn’t. Who knows.

Anyways, if anyone has some info about this James guy or have done business with him, please do tell.

My Brother Will Be Here In a Few Days!

Friday, October 20th, 2006

JC is leaving California on Monday. He should be arriving on Tuesday night or Wednesday at the latest. I hope his trip goes well. My Mom has asked him to bring a couple of things that we have not been able to find here in Texas. Some spices and such.

My kids will have someone to jump on besides my husband, finally!

My brother loves to play with kids and kids like him back. I am happy that my kids will have at least an uncle to spoil them near here.

I can’t wait to have JC with us.

Some People decide to live in Cali. and Others decide to move

Friday, October 20th, 2006

Like in one or two posts ago. I mentioned that my best friend decided to stay in Cali because she could not sell her house. Well today I received a call from one of my aunts who is looking into moving to Texas. The Austin Area to be exact. She does not want to sell her house in Cali but she wants to buy one here. She plans to rent out the house in California and get a mortgage here in Texas.

Some people decide to stay in California and others have decided they want to move here.

I hope things work out for her. My aunt has given me homework. She wants me to look for a 3b/2b with a pool. I have work to do. She also said that she would move and that she would be able to transfer with her company. I think she is serious about this. I hope she can find the house that she wants.

California Real Estate Is Not Good For Sellers Right Now!

Friday, October 20th, 2006

My friend Teresa has decided to stay in California after all. She tells me that the real estate market there is really bad for sellers. She would have to lower the price of her house a lot in order to sell it. I guess for buyers right now may be the time to invest. I personally would wait a bit longer.

I am sad that she will not be moving to Texas but happy that she has made up her mind and taking some action.

I wish you the best TZ.

Vimo, The Pro-Consumer Health Site

Wednesday, October 18th, 2006

I found a company online called Vimo. They make buying healthcare and insurance easier, cheaper, and more transparent. Currently I am shopping for HSA for my parents. Between both of them they have: Diabetes, High Cholesterol, Obesity, Asthma, Hypertension, Hx of Heart Attack. They have mentioned some of their desires for medical care in case they can’t decide for themselves when they get older.

This is what made me look into alternative ways to make sure I am able to take care of them when they need me the most. I know that the cost of health insurance is so high that no wonder many people can’t afford it. I got quotes from other Financial Companies and it was so high I could not afford it. Vimo provides many choices and ways I can save money; It’s wonderful.

Now you can shop for health insurance from the best companies and get the best prices. You can also find out what hospitals charge for certain procedures. This is good if you have a percentage you need to meet and have a choice of hospital to get a certain procedure done. The cheaper the procedure the lower your percentage. Here in the Austin Area we have a lot of good hospitals around and this is certainly a wonderful idea in my opinion.

I also get the opportunity to rate my Doctor. If you have a wonderful Doctor, go online and rate him or her and get a Free T-Shirt.

They also have a blog with good information. If you are shopping or are concern about the hight cost of healthcare you need to check Vimo out.

Night Drives: A Family Tradition

Wednesday, October 18th, 2006

As I’ve mentioned in the pass, my husband and I love to take the kids for a drive at night. Our famous drives serves many purposes:

  • Gets the kids out of the house
  • Gets the kids contained in one place where they can not go crazy
  • Puts all 3 to sleep quickly and easy
  • Helps my husband and I relax
  • Gives us time for a cup of coffee and a chat
  • Gives us time to plan for our future
  • Gives us time to share concerns and come to conclusions for dilemmas
  • Brings are little family together

If these are not good reasons to go for drives, I don’t know what is! The last conversation we had, my husband and I agreed that we need to somehow make time for him to go back to school. We agreed that it’s important for him to go for what he wants. We make some money on the side now with the blogs that we have and my parents help me a lot with the kids. I think he should go back to school.

He is a very intelligent guy (and handsome) and I know he needs more interaction with people at his level. I think that going to school will open more doors for him and he could get to know people in the area that are interested in the same things he is.

Anyways, this week; the school thing was the topic of our nightly drives.

Vicodin OxyContin Are Good PainKillers But They Are Also Very Addicted

Wednesday, October 18th, 2006

In my almost 9 years working in a hospital setting I saw many things. In the Orthopedics Department there were many bad injured people coming to get some type or relief for their pain. There was a sub-division for “Pain Management” under the Orthopedic Department. I often saw patients come in to try to work the system and talk to different Doctors or nurses to see if they could get RX refilled in less than 1 month frame.

These patients were usually in big accidents were they needed pain killers for a long time and developed dependence after a while. This hit close to home when one of my friends got a job in a different clinic as a supervisor and was working very hard. The clinic was not very organized and was short on staff, pushing Christina to work different desks and hours for almost a year. Little by little she started developing very bad neck and back pain. When her condition got worse, she went to see the Workers Comp. Department in the hospital and they diagnosed her with a spinal injury due to repeated motion.

Genesis Has A Post-Op Appointment On Thursday

Monday, October 16th, 2006

Everything is going well with Genesis. She has her post-op appointment scheduled for this Thursday. Her stitches are coming off.

I am very exited that the stitches are coming out. After this Thursday she will be able to take baths again. For the last 1 1/2 she has been getting sponge baths per Doctor’s recommendations.

I am so proud of her. She is done very well all this time.
