Mid Week Madness

Wednesday, May 30th, 2007

Today is Wednesday and I still have not finished my shopping list for the party. I am begining to get nervous. I have about 3 hours this afternoon to do it or at least most of it. I need so much stuff.

As much as I like hosting parties and entertaining, I get a little crazy in the head just thinking of everything that still needs to get done. That includes cleaning the house and making everything look presentable. Having 3 little ones can be very disorganized and crazy.

This is my mid week madness, Wednesday 2 1/2 days before the Birthday Party.

Loosing Weight

Wednesday, May 30th, 2007

My doctor put me on a diet exactly 6 weeks ago. I am loosing weight and I’m very exited. Last time I weight myself was over a week ago and I had lost 11 lbs.

I am not exercising like I would like but my appetite is now under control. After Dan II was born I gained so much weight it was not funny.

But, I am happy that I am now loosing weight.

Memorial Day

Wednesday, May 30th, 2007

This past Monday was Memorial Day and my husband and my brother did not work.  We barbecued and hang out in the back yard most of the afternoon.  The kids had lots of fun in their little pool that my husband bought for them since the one they had last year got messed up.

Anyways, Monday felt good to me.  I really like having my husband home on weekdays.  Holidays are very special to me for that reason.  I get to spend more time with my whole family.

Genesis Has a Doctors’ Appointment

Tuesday, May 29th, 2007

This is Genesis 2 year check up today.  She sees her Doctor every year after today.  Poor baby, she will be getting her 2 year shots.

She usually does not cry but she gets angry at the nurse and gives her a look.  Genesis is very expressive that way.  She does not say much but she lets you know just by looking at you when she is not happy.  No mistaking when she is upset.

Maybe I’ll take her for ice-cream when she is done.

I hope everything goes well!

Party List

Monday, May 28th, 2007

There is one week left till the party.  I still have a long list of things I need to do.  I hope everything is done quick.  I have my husband fixing a couple of things that needed to be done.  My Dad is keeping up the yard so that it looks nice the day of the party.

My Mom and I are still debating what should be on the menu.  We need to make up our minds quick since we have less then a week.

This week, I will be ordering the cake as well.  There are also some things that I can not buy till a couple of days to the party to make sure they don’t go bad.

I am exited.  I want my little Princess to have a great Party!

Church/Family Day

Sunday, May 27th, 2007

Sundays are our Church/Family Day. We get up in the morning, get dressed and out the door we go. After church we usually go and hang out all day. Sometimes we go to the mall or go for nice long drives. The kids love Church/Family Day.

2.jpegThis morning they got to go hang out with their friends at church and in the afternoon we went to this Park where they get to ride a cool looking train. We pay $2 per person and go for a 15 minute train ride around the park and after that they go play in the playground.

All this is after having lunch and taking their naps of course.

By doing things like this we have been able to find really cool spots like that water park in Cedar Park. The kids love that place so much. I think we will be visiting the water park a lot this Summer!

Back Porch

Saturday, May 26th, 2007

dsc03883.JPGThe back porch was finally stained. It was stained to match our wood fence. It looks wonderful. My husband is thinking of extending the back porch over the direction of our family room. That way, the kids will have more room to play outside but not in the sun during the summer.

My husband even took a little cat nap out on the porch the other day and he really enjoyed it. We also put in an out door ceiling fan thatdsc03885.JPG works wonderful.

The porch floor is cement but we covered it with play mats so the kids wont get hurt. Genesis loves to be out there. She can play for hours, even by herself. Mikey in the other hand needs a playmate. Dan II loves to feel the breeze on his face. Every time he is out there, he giggles when there is wind and it hits his face.

I can’t wait ’till it is longer and there is more room for the kids to play outside but out of the sun!

Genesis’ Birthday is Coming Up!

Friday, May 25th, 2007

Genesis is scheduled to have her B-Day party in about 2 weeks.  The theme for her party is “Dora the Explorer”.  She likes Dora.  The Dora Moonwalk has been reserved and her cake needs to be ordered.

I have picked out her outfit but I think I want something different for her.  I bought her new shoes (she needed new ones badly) and I think I want an outfit that matches her shoes.  The list of things to do is long but I still have some time.  I’ll get there.

Last party we had, people really enjoyed eating pupusas (Salvadorean dish) and are asking if we are cooking them again.  So I think they may be in the menu for Genesis’ Birthday Party also.

I am so happy, my little Princess is going to be 2.

Mikey’s Room- Race Car Theme

Thursday, May 24th, 2007

dsc03906.JPGFinally, I think I am going somewhere with decorating Mikey’s room with the Race Car Theme. I’ve been shopping, looking for things I thought I wanted in his room to get started. I bought this black and white checker material from Walmart and made him curtains. I had 4 black and white checker flags that I’ve been saving since last summer and put those up. I picked up 3 “CARS” posters and put them up as well. dsc03911.JPG

His room looks nice! Not finished but getting there. I still want to paint the walls and bring in more matching furniture. I would like a clock in his room also. I want to do dsc03910.JPGsomething with his bed, but I am still not sure what. His ceiling fan looks great!

Little by little but it is coming along. I think the next big step will be painting the walls.dsc03905.JPG My husband keeps suggesting blue but gray is what comes to my mind. A soft gray, a soothing gray, an anti super active child gray. Now that sounds good to me. But this is still in the air. I love the accents of red, not too much but just enough.

Dan II- 1st birthday Party

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2007

It has been a year since Dan II was born. He is definitely my personal gift from God. He is the sweetiest and most gentle baby there is. He turned one year old a couple of weeks ago and for the first time we had a real birthday party at our new home.

It has been about a year since we moved to our new home and a bit more since we moved from Cali. We have made friends and the kids also have made friends. We invited our new friends over for Dan’s first birthday party and had a blast.

The party theme was Little Einsteins. Dan II was able to take his morning nap before our guest starting arriving and we were able to eat, fellowship, break the pinata, have cake and have fun before his afternoon nap. Everything was just perfect

The menu included: pupusas (Salvadorean dish), Carne Asada, Salvadorean tamales, Rice, Beans, and Green Salad. The cake was a mocha flavored cake made by my Mom’s friend from church.

I was able to reserve a Moonwalk and I am so glad I did. It certainly kept the kid’s friends entertained. We had about 15 kids in the house, not counting my 3. I was also glad about the safety knobs on the doors. It kept some little ones from wondering around and getting into trouble. I never knew how good those things were.

The birthday boy got many gifts, lots of toys and clothes. Even Mikey and Genesis scored some presents themselves from family that came to visit from Houston.

My little munkin is left with cool toys, we are left with good memories and still more to come!
