The following morning I was awoken by this loud, ear bursting sound.  I jumped out of bed (just before 5:00 a.m.) in a panic.  Needless to say, all three kids woke up.  The sound was so loud that we had to go outside.  My 5 year old with sensory issues had both ears covered the whole time.

Soon after going outside, I saw lights being turned on and our neighbors started coming out.  We tried pushing bottoms to make it stop but nothing happened. The lights kept flashing.  The manual was nowhere to be found in the chaos. I could not even think straight.  Neighbors started giving me advice and finally I called up the company and asked them to walk me through troubleshooting the problem.  We finally got the system to shut down.

Today I decided to browse the internet to figure out what the problem could have been. In my search I came across a website for Home Security Systems in Midland, TX.  The first thing I saw was a little remote that looks very similar to a keyless entry for a car.  Apparently ADT Home Security Systems has this awesome little remote control for their systems.

I only wish I had this little gadget a couple of days ago during our fiasco.  I feel like firing my current provider and going with ADT.  I think I could of prevented my neighborhood’s early morning call if I had a more established security company.

Even though all three; ages 7, 5, and 4 do not know how to swim I worked something out. I am able to take all three to the pool on my own and not worry about accidents. They are well trained. My younger son who has ASD will not go in the pool without his floaties. Amazingly the floaties keep them a float.

There is one thing I always do before we leave the house. Putting sun screen lotion before leaving the house is the best thing. If I wait until we are at the pool, my little ones get inpatient.

The floaties are awesome and they have helped out during the summer months. Walgreens has them and they are very affordable. Check them out.

She does have a weakness, like her father she loves candy.  The hair stylist asked me if it would be all right to offer her candy and I agreed.  I can’t believe how well behave she was.  The only problem was that she kept salivating.  Genesis did not care one bit.  If I ever need her to stay still I know exactly what to do.  Candy is not the best thing to offer your kids when you want them to do something but sometimes it’s a “Life Saver”.

My husband has been saying he would go since we got married and for the first 5 years that we did not have kids but never meant it. This is our 10th Anniversary and just now he has agreed to go. As soon as he said he wanted to do this for me as a gift I turned around and booked the flight. He can’t change his mind now!

I have to give him credit though, because I know that he was fearful about going down there for what ever reason. He has overcome his fear and he says he is ok about going and is looking forward to it. 

I think he is going to have lots of fun and will be spoiled over there. All ready my family down there has hire a person to drive us around. We are going to a resort near the beach and will be staying in a mid size city near the beach in a house with aunts willing to come clean and cook for us while staying there.

I think that swing in a hammock and drinking coconut juice will appeal to him.  Who knows, maybe he likes it so much that he may want to go there for our 11th Anniversary.

I do this part time but for the last 6 months I have not been writing like I should. I was up to $200 a month and now I am going down very fast. I know that $200 a month is nothing but when it is not counted on and it is just for what ever and when ever it is nice.

Last year I save about 3 months worth and bought Christmas presents and that was very nice. I am hoping I can get up there before the month of December starts. It may be too much to hope for but I am working very hard to get there.

Hope it is possible!

I first think that went thru my mind was my 4 year old. He has been changing his mind about what costume he wants. It costs about $60 bucks to get the whole set. I spent some money all ready in a different costume he wanted and I am not sure I want to spend more.

But I will keep this in mind and be on the look out for sales. If I find the right price for this costume I may get it for him.

Something happen to me today when I was at the bank. When I arrived I saw in the parking lot, a lady with a toddler in her arms and her car had a tire off as a tow truck was trying to tow her car. As I passed them into the bank, she smiled greeting me but I could tell she was sad. She looked tired and worn out. The little boy in her arms must of been about 7-9 months old and he looked dirty and had no shoes.

I went into the bank and finished my business. I came out and she asked me for assistance. She went on to say that she needed $10 dollars to finish paying the tow truck driver. I had no cash on me but asked her to wait. I came back with some money but trying not to be intrusive, I started asking her questions. She then again gives me that same sad smile as she tries to tell me how she ended up in that parking lot. This Mom is actually living in a homeless shelter with her husband and baby.  Another homeless woman in the shelter helped her to the storage facility near where she is sharing storage space with to get clothes and shoes for her child.

So here is this woman living in a homeless shelter with her family , standing in front of me asking me for $10.  She is unemployed and is having a hard time finding a job. She continues to say how ashamed she was about asking me for money but I told her what my Dad used to say to me when I was a little girl “There is no shame in asking for help, but there is shame in taking what is not yours”.

I could not help it but try to imagine what I would do if I was in her shoes.  At that point I wished I had lots of money and houses available to me to help people like her. I considered extending my help by inviting her to stay at my house. Not knowing if what she was saying was true or not and afraid of the risk I could possible put my own children at,  I refrained myself. I did give her my number and told her that I could not do much as I handed over $40 but that if she was ever in a situation and had no one to turn to, she could give me a call. I told her that I didn’t know how I could help her but If I could I would.

I saw her get in to the tow truck and drive away.

My heart goes out to those Moms that are going thru a hard time and have little ones that depend on them

I am so proud of her. She seems to do very well. I hope this is all a good experience for her.

My parents, my sisters step-son and the five of us all sitting on the deck for the show. It was very nice. My son used the potty once while waiting and I have to say it beats being at the park in the cold and sitting on grass or worse on concrete.

I love my second story deck.

I am still committed on taking her but at this point I am not expecting much to be learned.

She does look cute with her uniform on though!

I do hope that next year she will be ready.  I think she likes to dance.  If anything, I will try other types of dance class for her see how she does then.  A mixture of music and dance may work better for her I think.  I have to see what’s out there I guess.
