My Concerns About Staying Home
This is a blog about Elsy and her experience with staying home with her 3 children. Their ages at this time are 2 months old, 14 months old and 2 1/2 years old.
I know what you are thinking, “Got my hands full?”
At least that’s the comment I always get when I tell people my children’s age. Anyway, this blog is about all the things that I encounter and have to overcome as a stay home Mom. I have worked since I was 16 1/2 years old while in High School. I remember asking my parents to sign a release so that my High School could place me as a Teacher’s Assistant during summer school and I have worked ever since.
In my opinion this will be a long journey but don’t take me wrong, this is what I always wanted. To be able to stay home with my kids is one of my greatest accomplishments. I have to thank my husband for making this happen for me. We both realize how important this is for our kids life now and their future. The following are things that I probably will encounter and some-how, have to overcome:
1. Finances - Even though our bills are not many, their is a liability that is placed on a one income family. I will have to learn to budget and manage finances a bit better.
2. Social Life - I have to admit I am not the most social person to begin with but enjoy adult conversations and relationships, something that I always had at work. This will be something I need to make time for now.
3. Being Bored - My 3 children are small and can not do much with them, therefore I am limited on things to do outside of church and family get togethers at this time. I believe this will change once they are a bit older with school and sports.
4. Getting a Break - Work has always been where I rested from changing diapers, kids crying, getting into things and such but now this will be something I have to figure out. I have the advantage of my Mom helping me with them and she is really good about taking over when I can not do it anymore. I know that I will rely on her to help me out with that. She has always enjoyed being with my kids so she does not mind, THANK GOD!
